Winterreise
Der Wegweiser
Winterreise is a handmade book, containing 24 original lithographs. The total amount of produced books is 24.
The lithographs are based on Franz Schubert’s Winterreise. In the 24 songs, based on the poems by Wilhelm Müller, a man is travelling through his country, towards a certain death.
The lithographs are not ment to be an illustration on this cyclus. Together they form a journey along different landscapes, sometimes cloudy or cold, but always with a tempting horizon that makes the wanderer long for what is behind.
This book has been presented at the exibition Frank Dekkers, Drawings, at the KunstSalon, november 12, Utrecht, The Netherlands.
